Locally known as "Sentier du Souvenir" and located between the towns of AIZENAY and LA ROCHE SUR YON, on the edge of the Forest of Aizenay is a beautiful memorial dedicated to the brave men who died in the crash of 'Big Red'
The "aircraft hole" is still visible today. This is here that my father (André-Luc GOARANT) and I (Olivier GOARANT) have found many dispersed parts from the B-17. Anne-Marie VRIGNAUD and Danny Mc Gahan (Irish man who did many researches about "Big Red", he's the "Big Red Flying Fortress" website's webmaster) helped us in our researches.
